Papua New Guinea Immigration and Citizenship Service Authority has informed the General Public that the former Papua New Guinea citizens who are now citizens of a foreign country and over the age of 18 and are still holding on to a PNG Passport must immediately surrender their PNG passports.

The Authority pointed out that dual citizenship is not automatic and those have obtained a foreign citizenship and in possession of foreign passport automatically lost their PNG citizenship. Those who wish to resume PNG citizenship and dual citizenship can apply for a new passport.
